Best of Round Eleven:
Player: Daniel Allsopp, Melbourne - in the sort of dynamic poaching form that had him among the top goal-scorers in the UK; now seemingly on the verge of international call-up
U-20 Player: Adrian Lejier, Melbourne - just pipping fellow stopper Sime Kovacevic and tireless Knights striker Adam Casey
Coach: Paul Nevin, New Zealand - having the courage to blood Dustin Wells and Mark Paston, while grinding out a necessary result with behind-the-ball football
Match: Melbourne Victory vs Central Coast Mariners
Goal: Daniel Allsopp, Melbourne - his second, to tie the match in the dying minutes with Victory down to nine players; a great volley in the top corner after Fred's remarkable verve, vision and cross
4-4-2 Team of the Week:
Archie Thompson - Daniel Allsopp
Robbie Middleby - Fred - Dustin Wells - Joel Griffiths
Gregory Duruz - Adrian Leijer - Paul Okon - Steve Eagleton
Mark Paston
Subs: Clint Bolton, Josh McCloughan, Jamie McMaster, Adam Kwasnik

What is wrong with the Roar? Has Moron lost the plot again, with all the changes he makes from time to time? And I have been very disappointed with Marcus Wedau, he has shown one or two good touches or passes and then you don't see anything more from him, and gets subbed early in the second half.
I think the key problem is the small number of teams. Last year the teams, except NZ, were, by mid-season, even. This year they are also even, apart from Melb and NZ. As we saw last night, Melb will get you even if you put the tightest most boring lock on a game. But anyone can loose to NZ. Adelaide did. With the small number of teams, everyone knows everyone else's game plus everyone else's players. Some have played with or against each other for up to 10 years. So if you want to shut down a game you can. And against the Roar, NZ, Central Coast and Adelaide have wanted to.
The priority for FFA must be new teams, new players, younger players. This will make matches less predictable and therefore more exciting. Only this will ensure financial survival. But FFA says the new clubs must be held off till 2008-9 season.
No I don't think Miron has lost the plot. But perhaps his options have been limited. Perhaps some of the signings haven't quite achieved what was expected. But I think they will soon. The Roar play the most exciting game in the league bar the unbeatable formula of being a team that wins every week.
What I find weird with Miron - a born tweaker or gambler - is that he continues, even when his team is doing very well, to roll the dice. It's like he can't help himself and wants to prove something to somebody. Or wants to see how far he can stretch his intellect and his powers over the chessboard.
well the knights have nothing to lose, so why not blood some new players.
spot on james....
have just watched miron over-coach yet again, shifting mclaren into central defence this time....
his instance on mclaren starting ahead of gibson is puzzling to say the least. it's no coincidence that the roar's results and solidity at the back have dipped since mclaren became a fixture...
witness the way he was shaken off by Veart tonight.
very strange that a manager at this level can't see that....
is it blind faith or what?
well he's gone now. John Kosmina said 'we ground them out... it was a great to watch.' Yeah right. If Australia football is going to be grounding them out then its back to crowds of 500. Good on yeh John.
It was a game of professional fouls for Adelaide. Dodd's on Dario should have been a red. But then they won and that is all that counts. More important than growing Australian football.
There are not enough teams and the refs are too captured by the old players. Aloisi skillfully took Ben Williams out of the game. Just before half time ben spoke to Ross for about 3 minutes - crowd booing away - no yellow card just a chat. Rubbish.
Dn't agreed with the McLaren v Gibson comment. Have a look at how many games Gibson has played for Roar since mid season last year.
With Miron goes attacking football. And maybe the crowd.
