Squad Reports Up

As the start of the Pre-Season Cup approaches, it's about time the HAL teams close in on their final squads for the 2006-07 regular season. Only Melbourne has assembled a full complement of players so far, but incoming transfers are thick and fast at the moment. To help keep up, I've compiled at-a-glance squad lists for each team.

Who's looking strong?

NB: I'll shift these over to the right sidebar once they fall out of the recent posts and keep them updated through the season (so we can stay on top of all the inevitable short-term injury replacement signings).

Hi James

Any ideas how you can follow the pre-season cup live without travelling round Australia?

A-league site and club sites aren't giving updates, nothing on foxtell, haven't found a website showing progress scores yet.

Don't they know the fans want this?

Syd v Newcastle is happening right now. somewhere.

Best bet, probably, is to head to the fan forums and hope for some relatively informative live textual updates from mobile wireless laptop owners at the matches.

I imagine the FFA is most concerned with selling tickets to games rather than providing outlets for free coverage on the Internet. Pity, but so long as attendances improve we should see more of those kinds of facilities implemented.

thanks James

crowd of 3300 at Maroochy isn't going to take the FFA to glory. My concern is that with the Foxtel deal noone seems to be incentivised to carry over the interest from the world cup. that is the real challenge is for NZ Knights to get more than 5000 per game or why bother. Will any Kiwi's go if all good NZ players are playing elsewhere?
