Sigh. No free trip to Thailand for me.
I bombed out of the 'Expert' trivia category in Telstra's Be Involved campaign to take five people to Thailand for the Asian Cup finals, scoring only 17 out of 20. (Embarrassing, but there you have my startling, pathetic admission in black on yellow.) Checking back through my browser I noticed I'd somehow managed to incorrectly select North Korea instead of Lebanon for the second question regarding the team that withdrew from Australia's qualifying group for the tournament - damn lack of mouse control!
No idea what else I got wrong, though. I thought I was geek enough.

I'll be interested in your views on the squads for v3 James.
Adelaide, after 2 seasons of an experience based formula, seem to have dumped or lost most of their players.
Wellington could be strong this year.
Newcastle look a lot lighter this year - including losing a few to Wellington.
Sydney are yet to pull their marque rabbit out.
Perth have gone for inexperienced Aust premier leaguers - again. Lack of money for new owners?
Central Coast look OK.
With the June window opening soon, I'm sure there'll be much more instrumental activity in the market over the next few weeks. At the moment, there appear few signs that any team has greatly benefited or greatly suffered during the off season.
Something to like is the proliferation of youngsters earning contracts. Hopefully the best of them will actually get some quality time on the pitch as well!
Version 3 Predictions at at 16/06/07
1. Melbourne
Offloaded their baggage and have recruited 3 of the best players in the league- Hernandez, Milicevic & Keenen. Kemp is good also. Plus th best young players in the country.
2. Sydney
Biggest signing must be Branko. Same core team for 3 years, unique in the a-league, asian cup exp & some key signings to come. They will be back.
3. Newcastle
Despite losing Carle & Rodriguez, appear to have signed 3 top notch sth americans & ryan griffiths, plus 3 other socceroos already on their books.
4. Central Coast
Heff, Petrovski & Owens are top signings- proven in the league. Mrdja fit is a like a new signing as is a fit pondeljak. Nucleaus of the squad retained, they will be in the 4.
5. Adelaide
Rebuilding year. Have made some gr8 signings but new coach and lost alot of experience (aloisi, rech, veart, kemp & qu). Agostino if fit will be the key.
6. Wellington Pheonix
Strong squad but will play with a lot of pride this season. Should be tough at home.
7. Perth Glory
Smith is a good coach, but not one to deliver championships. Better at development. Some talent, but not enough quality depth.
8. Qld Roar
Won't really miss anyone they've lost, but have only signed Tiatto as a key signing. Will be a tough year for the Roar i think. Moore, Aloisi or North would have made a massive difference. They are 2-3 players should of a top side.
